Describe a childhood song you remember well.
You should say:
where you first heard this song
how old you were when you first heard it
what is was about
and explain how you feel now when you hear this song.
Well, when talking about a song I remember well in my childhood, the first one that comes to my mind is “Swallow”. I remembered it was my seven years old when I first heard it. My mother often sang me this lullaby in my bed time and I have heard it so many times in my childhood that I can still remember it very vividly.
This was a song usually famous in the rural area of our country that mothers often use to soothe the baby and to send them in sleep. It was an 8-10 lines song with great harmony and the way my mother sang it was extraordinary. It still echoes in my head and I miss those days.
Because this is a typical example of traditional Chinese folk song, so during the time when I was far away from hometown in Beijing, every time I hear this song, it always reminds me of my hometown. That’s the main reason I still remember it well. May be someday when I will become a father, I will sing this song to my children as well.
