7 listening skills for spoken English

18/02/201439 second read

I have been practising the listening skills with the BBC news materials for about a month, and I conclude that the most critical problem is that when the native people speak too quickly or unclearly, it will be hard or sometimes impossible to grasp what they say, even though the words they use are unbelievably easy and simple.

In order to make clear why does it happen, I found the video from OnTarget English, in hoping to help me to recognize differences between written English and spoken English, and start improving my listening skills.

OnTarget English has listed seven listening skills that I need to develop if I am going to understand most native English speakers. Do understand and remember them to keep sanguine about the current predicament.
