Many people work at home using modern technology today. Some people think only the workers benefit from this, not the employers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, the flourishing development of high-tech facilities enable employees to work at home. However, whether this work style will benefit workers only remains a controversial issue. I agree with the view that both of employers and workers would benefit from this.
Firstly, it is obvious that allowing workers stay at home during working time will dramatically reduce the operation cost, and consequently increase the profits of organisations. This is because when few staffs work together, the employers can cut down expenses by reducing office renting, accommodation and transportation fees. Therefore, once there are distance-working system and related regulations, working at home should be welcome in companies.
Likewise, employees are more likely to do things in their home offices as they can arrange their tasks freely. Without stress from other colleagues, people can take their time sitting comfortably, making schedules and doing work without interruption. As long as they can finish their jobs in time, staffs would prefer to work at home with ease.
That is not say that there are no disadvantages for the employers to adopt this working method. When it comes to the team spirits among workers, it is difficult to connect and collaborate with each other within the team as everyone has less chances to communicate or discuss face to face. But honestly, this shortcoming can be overcome by deploying communication system deliberately.
In sum, businessman should fully harness the great power of modern technology to maximise their business target; meanwhile, they also need to circumscribe the deficiency of it. Only by doing so can we ensure that we can create an efficient commercial environment beneficial to both sides.
