IELTS Writing: Letter-Moving to the new house

You have recently moved to a different house. Write a letter to an English-speaking friend. In your letter

1. explain why you have moved
2. describe the new house
3. invite your friend to come and visit

Dear Joe,

I am writing to let you know that at last we have moved to a bigger house near the suburb. As our new baby has arrived and my parents would sometimes come to stay with us to help look after the baby, we just could not go on living in that small bungalow. So we started looking for new place two weeks ago.

The house is great! We have spacious room now, and there is a very modern bathroom and kitchen as well. Besides, my baby will be happy because there is a beautiful garden in front of the gate so that he will have a comfortable place to play. The house has been well-decorated so we won’t spend time with that.

Why don’t you come around this weekend and see what you think of our new place? As it has been quite a long time since we met last, I am sure we will have a lot to chat and have fun in the garden.

Lots of love,
