IELTS Speaking topic: Countryside

1. Would you like to live in the countryside in the future?
2. What do people living in the countryside like to do?
3. What are the benefits of living in rural areas?
4. What’s the difference between living in the city and living in the countryside?

Well, yes, I really love to live in the countryside if possible in the future because I find that life in the rural areas are less stressful and people are more relaxed, friendly and family-oriented, whereas people in the cities are just like ants.

It’s kind of hard to say but people that I know around me tend to enjoy the breathtaking sceneries, space and other amazing places such as forests, lakes or mountains; but maybe for others, they just want to grow crops and feed animals for their living.

I feel that there are many benefits of living in the countryside. For example, the cost of living is stunningly low, including groceries, food, water bill, property taxes. Almost everything is less expensive than the same ones in the city. Besides, the life in countryside is more peaceful because there are simply less distractions. For instance, there aren’t cars going by constantly. I can just buckle down and focus on what I need to accomplish.

Well, between the two, living in a city brings people really convenience since there are various living facilities in the city, for example, people can easily get access to the shopping malls, medicine clinics, schools and entertaining; on the contrary, living in the countryside can enjoy the fresh and quality air, because the air is not polluted during the industralization.
